The Early Childhood Montessori Diploma course is designed to equip individuals who wish to train as Montessori teachers with a high level of professional understanding and a thorough knowledge of the Montessori Method for children aged between two and a half through six years of age (3 through 6 years).It provides the right balance of theory and practical experience which the student requires, and gives instruction in the use of Montessori materials for children aged 3 through 6 years, across the curriculum areas. The diploma covers both the academic phase and practical phase.
The Practicum phase of the course is composed of a minimum of 400 hours (Four Hundred Hours) which include 280 minimum hours of student teaching including observations in a Montessori Early Childhood Classroom, material making, independent research and curriculum folder preparation. Student teaching includes completing a teaching practice portfolio comprising of records of detailed assignments/projects, timesheets and other record keeping responsibilities.Heritage House Montessori Center has graduated several students who are currently employed as Montessori Directresses in different countries of the world, including Nigeria. We have also encouraged and assisted several of our graduates to fulfil their dreams of establishing their own Montessori Preschool provision for children aged 3 -6 years.
To enrol on the Early Childhood course, you must hold a minimum qualification of a Bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognized University. A strong command of the English Language is essential on the course.
